Construction of the pond
This is what the area and the dug out hole first looked like:

I hauled in about 400 kg of big rocks for the construction:


All those rocks turned out to be a popular hide-out for the ferrets:


The bottom of the hole is cleaned from any shark objects like stones and roots to make a smooth surface:


Since the pond is so shallow I dug out a deeper hole for the pump:

A string and a spirit level are useful tools to find out where the water line will be when constructing a pond
in several levels:

Constructing the edge:

Edges that will carry a lot of weight, i.e. heavy rocks that can be stepped on, are re-inforced with concrete
and fitted with a protective liner:


For the entire bottom of the pond I used two layers of PVC liner with a protective sheet in between;
